Things that brought me joy this month

  1. Found a new park nearby that's accessible from a winding staircase off the canal. It's full of wildflowers I can't name.

  2. A friend made me a pair of earrings. They are big and bright and chunky and not at all my style, and I love them.

  1. The cup of tea I had yesterday. First since December. My body's starting to get comfortable with caffeine again. It was fresh and black, out of a bag we'd bought in the Shambles district of York. Spiced with cloves and star anise. I drank it on the balcony and pretended it wasn't 30 degrees outside.

  2. This short poem (story?) on Strange Horizons.

  1. Working on UX projects at a reasonable pace, with forethought and calm discussions.

  2. Meeting up with a new friend for a pint and a walk along a trail called hunger hills woods.

  3. Resuming an embroidery project that I'd abandoned.

  4. Playing songs like this on repeat.

  5. The thunder. It rained for the first time today in a few weeks. Our reservoirs need it, but so did I.

  6. A dachshund moved into my apartment complex. When he sits he throws his entire body down and looks up for a treat. I know his name but I can't remember his owner's.

  7. My gollum succulent is still alive.
